I have been to many many Mexican restaurants and since I've found Los Primos I can't hardly stand any other Mexican Food. It's like we're hooked or adicted. The flavor of their food is excellent. And I've got to say their margarita's are the best I've ever had anywhere in the world and my husband and I have traveled throughout the US, and Mexico and they are the best. The only thing is they have poor exhaust system so when you leave you smell! But we still go and love the people, service and food almost weekly. Another Mexican restaurant recently renovated and are giving Los Primos a lot of compettion, but their food is not comparable and their margarita's are watered down and to me not fit to drink. But because they have a new clean building people go there. People are starting to come back because I think they realize their food and Margarita's are the best!! [10 Nov 2001 15:09:33]

Excellent Los Primos is far and away the best Mexican food around. If what you desire is fantastic food with excellent, friendly wait staff, Los Primos is the restaurant you seek. Their margaritas are to die for and their chips and salsa always hit the spot. I also recommend trying their cheese dip appetizer if you are looking for a change of pace. The wait staff is always accomodating and friendly, taking the time to get to know the regulars. Los Primos remains the yardstick by which I measure all Mexican food. [08 Apr 2003 11:54:27]

Los Primos was so great they are closed At Los Primos (The Cousins), you are started off with some very common chips and salsa. The hot sauce bottle is generic. The burrito gigante is rather large, but it can not be distinguished from any of their other dishes. Based on multiple visits, I theorize they used a prepackage spice mix as everything tastes very similar. The only other flavor the food has is onion. So much in fact that you will smell like a stewed onion when you leave. If you have ever been to a Burrito King (ie Chicago) or for that matter, a Chipotle resturant you know that for $5 you can have an enormous steak burrito. For close to $8 at Los Primos you will get seasoned gristle steak, and that's not counting a tip.
After a few visits (other peoples decision) I vowed never to go back, yet some people say it's great.
Los Primos is no more. It is now La Bamba Mexican Restaurant. I'm not sure of an ownership change, but the food has improved immensely. [21 May 2004 14:03:22]

La Bamba is my Addiction! When Los Primos closed, I was devastated. Who could possibly take their place? But my fears were laid to rest the first time I entered La Bamba. They are by far the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Their service is friendly and fast, and the place is always packed as they are becoming more popular by the day. Very authentic! I refuse to go to any other Mexican restaurant in Jefferson City! [08 Dec 2005 20:02:18]
