Very good bbq
Not much selection, but made up in quality. Workers are always willing to talk to the customers. Articles line the wall telling about the hard life the owner's family had growing up dirt poor.    [16 Feb 2004 08:07:18]

Quiet possibly best BBQ in Springfield
Had a very good dinner here a few weeks ago and talked with the owner after our order was placed till it was delivered. He wouldn't leave till we had all had a taste to see how we liked it. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, others in the party had the brisket/sausage sandwich and I tried a bite of it. All were very good bordering on best I've had in the area. Coleslaw was good but had a telltale taste of a specific salad dressing type that my not be enjoyed by all. BBQ beans were very good. Service was top notch. Steve rules!
It is a bit of a drive for some folks and Southsiders may feel like it is on the "other side" of town, but well worth the drive. Steve's BBQ is truly the best. His family has had the restaurant going on 30 years or something like that. Quality has staying power!    [15 Feb 2007 22:29:21]
