Decent fast food
I was recently unexpectedly in Jackson, MS overnight and not sure where to eat. I just wanted something easy and inexpensive - particularly seafood. Across the street from my motel was Captain D's. I had a great dinner - choosing the seafood platter that contained two large fish fillets in a very light, crispy batter, shrimp and crab cakes (in a real crab shell). The shrimp was just so-so, but the crab cakes and fish were delicious. I was able to substitute a generous serving of bright green steamed broccoli for the french fries, making the meal a bit healthier. Portions are generous, the price was under $8, and I went back to my motel very satisfied. (I have not rated service as it is self-serve - order at the counter.)    [28 Oct 2005 12:38:11]
