Great food, great service, low prices I've eaten several times at Barney's. I've had chicken tenders about half the time and sandwiches the other half.
The chicken was perfectly breaded and fried each time. The two times I had Caribbean jerk sauce, the chicken was served coated with the sauce instead of on the side for dipping. It was perfect. When I had them with honey mustard sauce, the sauce was served on the side, but the serving was much larger than the small cup of sauce you get in the chain restaurants.
A couple of times I ordered onion rings instead of fries. They are the best I've found in North Carolina. This is the only place I've had onion rings served with a choice of dipping sauces.
Sandwiches are stacked high and are a bargain for the price.
Service was excellent -- attentive on every visit, but not overbearing. There is a separate room for non-smoking. Sweet tea was refilled regularly.
Final note: I did not have to wait long for the check, nor for my change. I've lost count of the restaurants that had great service until it came time to pay up and get out. Barney's passed this test. [25 Apr 2007 16:03:04]
