Worst Meal Ever This restaurant I have to say was the worst restaurant that I have ever eaten at. To start off the manager snubbed us because we didn't have a reservation. Secondly my husband almost choked on the prime rib- it was tough, dry, and bland tasting. My son's macaroni and cheese didn't even taste like macaroni and cheese. Without a doubt the worst dining experience I have ever had. [28 Jul 2003 15:09:24]

Best Restaurant In North Central NH We have been frequenting Jesse's restaurant for over 25 years; at least once each month. It is our favorite place to dine. My wife and I use Jesse's as our bench mark to compare others by... Their best dishes are the meats. Their filet mignon cannot be beat. The salad bar has numerous sections and ir is always fresh and well stocked. The fresh bread is to die for. It has a very sweet unusual flavor. The restaurant has several sections and is decorated in upstate New York Adirondack camp style. Do not let the outdoor life motif fool you it is a first class place to eat. You can wear casual clothing or dinner dress. The calm and casual atmosphere fits all. The service is superb with what I believe are well screened, hand picked service people. They all share the work load. When your food is ready the first staff member that sees it serves it to you; pronto! A must have is a baked potato. If you miss that, you miss half of the meal. I always try to make reservations but it is not necessary. The host or hostess is usually very friendly and cordial. There is hardly ever a long wait. One thing for sure; you get you money's worth. The prices are a bit high but not outrageous. There is always plenty of parking on their paved country lot... This review is based on 25+ years of dining at this fine establishment. I do not work there and I do not have any financial interest in Jesse's Restaurant. [25 Apr 2004 14:10:51]

Finest Dining in Hanover I have lived sporatically in the upper valley now for 8 years and every time I ask "Where is a nice place to eat?" I have always got the same answer, Jesse's. Recently like any other time I moved back into the area and found the same recomendation to still stand. As a foodie and chef thats impressive. I was nervouse to hear it was under different ownership. But yet the food and restaurant was better then ever. Find out for yourself though, don't just take my word, ask anyone where's the place to eat and Jesse's will be among the top of the list. [25 Apr 2004 14:45:30]

The area's #1 choice Simply put when friends and/or family are coming to town and it's up to you to decide on the dining arrangements Jesse's is a no-brainer.
I'm sure in everyone's hometown there is the place you count on to be excellent all the time, no surprises, just like it's always been...and that is Jesse's.
Be sure to get a reservation for the traditionally busy times. It fills up quick. [10 May 2004 15:37:20]

We Love Jesse's I have eaten at Jesse's for over 9 years on a regular basis and have always had outstanding service, outstanding food and the servce is consistently great and the staff is friendly. Not only have I frequented Jesse's for individual dining with friends, but have attended numerous functions/parties there and have had the same great food and service. The staff handles large groups and small parties just as effectively and the standards for food and service are not compromised. I moved out of the area, but always look forward to a trip to Jesse's when I am in the Hanover area. Bottom line- we LOVE Jesse's! [10 May 2004 16:31:51]

One of the Best Places in the Upper Valley I am so surprised to see such a negative comment about Jesse's. My husband and I eat there about once a month. A few of the reasons we continue to dine there are the friendly staff, warm atmosphere and of course the delicious food. We have never had a bad meal and always leave with doggie bags; because we fill up on the lovely salad bar and homemade bread. I highly recommend Jesse's to anyone passing through the Upper Valley. It is one of the few family owned restaurants still around with great food, many choices and reasonable prices. [07 Jul 2004 20:13:34]

Jesse's is Recommended. As a part-time resident of the area, we have passed Jesse's many times on the way from New London to Hanover. It looked inviting, so my wife asked to try it out on her birthday. We made reservations, but then went online to see what Jesse's might offer. We read one very negative report, but decided to try it anyway. Much to our delight, Jesse's exceeded our expectations in every way. The service, food and ambience were all we could have asked for. We will go there often in the future and it will certainly be one of our favorite restaurants in the area. [14 Aug 2004 18:22:36]

Tasty Food, Good Meal There were 3 of us and we all liked Jesse's Tavern! We had great food, good service and enjoyed our meal. The clam chowder was very good, our prime ribs were just the way we asked for them and the salad bar was abundant and very fresh. I guess in the year since the other review they've improved.
