Needs Improvement The interior of the restaurant was well designed and constructed; from when I visited there many years back. Who ever designed the new Amalfi did a tremendous job.
Food and service has lost its quality from years ago. The hosting seems to be very unexperienced. The hostess when I was there would approximate when seating would be available - but would be off by 40-60 minutes. The food has changed ! Is there a new chef? If not, there should be. Terrific - Salems Best Food, service is fabulous. Jerry (owner, chef) does a great job, everything is fresh and tasty. Don't miss the stuffed pork chops. [21 Nov 2006 11:04:30]

Not the Best Very pleasant restaurant to visit. Many of the meals are fantastic. Not a 5 star restaurant at all, more like a 3 star. The value: for what you receive, is priced to high for the area. For an 8 0z glass of house wine it will cost you $6.00 (Over priced for the area especially when the wine is a $15 wine/bottle or of lesser value. The atmospere is incredible, the redesign work that occurred sometime ago is what makes the place priceless. If the food quality could get up to par, as well the prices and waitstaff and hosting - it would be an excellent restaurant. Wake up Amalfi, you have a good thing potentially going, do not loose it by reduced quality meals and overpriced value. [21 Feb 2008 04:10:58]
