Outstanding without pretense Excellent, seasonal menu with food expertly prepared and served with understated elegance. We enjoyed a penne with seared tuna and white beans as an appetizer and could taste each of the ingedients individually as well as in concert. Our swordfish on roasted vegetables main courses were cooked to perfection. BYOB. A tad pricey but well worth it. [03 Jan 2001 08:42:26]

Amazing! Great food. We had the 5 course chef's tasting menu and it was awesome. Service was great. I can't wait to go back. [07 Mar 2001 00:23:32]

fresh ingredients, great food The food at 28 oak street is consistantly excellent. I have tried something different each time and have never been disappointed. The fish is always cooked perfectly, the vegetables are diverse and wonderful, and the chef's sauces are light and full of flavor. The waiter's are always great, and for the picky eaters out there the chef is always accomadating with substitutions or changes to his perfect creations. A rare find!! [11 Oct 2001 00:30:38]

Lose a table Over rated and over priced. Did not like being squeezed into the table. $8 for the skimpiest creme brule we ever have seen...food arrived luke warm. Over hyped by the people who are afraid to disagree with the Bergen Record...almost as weak as Radicchio. [31 Oct 2001 19:04:22]

Excellent prix fixe menu The $28.00 prix fixe menu is an incredibly good value for Ridgewood wih three courses for $28.00. Portions are large and all dishes are well prepared and interesting. Service is excellent. [08 Feb 2002 11:51:27]

Outstanding We hadn't been to 28 Oak Street in quite some time because we knew it had really gone downhill over the last few years. We were convinced by friends to try it again as there was a new owner (since January) and WOW - it was excellent!!! The new owner/chef Paul Bazzini has truly impressed us with his outstanding food and excellent hospitality (coming to our table to welcome us!). The service was excellent and all of our meals were outstanding. We will definitely be back to try the new tasting menu! I would highly recommend this restaurant. [10 Sep 2004 11:51:42]

Above the rest This place is truly different. It's cozy and offers good service, but the best part is the food. Try the Pear Salad with Gorgonzola Cream Filling. The Creme Brulé is excellent as are the Lamb Chops. [25 Dec 2004 11:45:32]

Definitely Recommend My wife and I came to know of this restaurant after reading a glowing review in one of the local free magazines that we receive at home. They gave the restaurant four stars, and they weren't lying! We enjoyed the five course tasting menu as well as special attention from the chef/owner who went over our likes/dislikes prior to determining what culinary delights he would surprise us with. From soup to dessert - everything was truly delicious! The service staff was very friendly yet extremely professional, and knew just when to be "invisible" and when to interact with us in between conversation. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and plan to visit again soon! [03 Feb 2005 16:29:09]

We'll be back Had an excellent meal at Bazzini at 28 Oak last night. Dining room was full, yet we were treated as if we were VIPs. Water glass consistently filled, wine poured, flatware replaced, etc. Food was outstanding and the Chef came out at the end of the evening and visited several tables - a nice touch. Best in Bergen county We have had 5 dinners with several friends on different occasions. The consensus is: It is a gem. No one has been disappointed after our raves. Our favorite by far. [28 Feb 2006 10:41:16]
