Hella good food Some of the best Mexican food I've had in a restaurant. The place is busy sometimes... the waitress does her best to keep you happy. [30 Jul 2003 21:43:38]

Nothing in the southwest compares! These guys need to get going on an expansion. They would make a lot of money. Just by what I've had in 150 restaurants from TX, NM, AR, and CA and nothing comes close. [25 Sep 2003 13:43:28]

Top 10 Mexican Restaurant I live in North Carolina and I would fly back to El Paso just to drive to Alamogordo and eat at Margo's. Some of the finest Mexican food to be found, with a flavor that can be found nowhere else. [08 Jan 2004 15:01:25]

Hmmm Friends recommended Margo's, but we weren't impressed. Dining room was really dark (ambiance???), the food was okay, but not the best Mexican place I've ever eaten at and we haven't gone back. [08 Jan 2005 10:56:35]

BEST IN THE BASIN FOR A REASON Margo's is THE best Mexican restaurant I've EVER eaten at and I've traveled the world! INCLUDING Mexico. I found the staff to be wonderfully cheerful and friendly. If you see the head waitress, Sandy, which might be hard (she's only 4' 10"), tell her you saw this review and that "Hooker" sends her regards. The food is out of this world! In fact, I gained over 20 pounds in 2 & 1/2 years that I lived there. Don't let the recent reports of people getting sick scare you. If I still lived in Alamogordo I would have been the first person there the day the doors opened back up. [09 Jan 2005 10:33:54]

Sorry, it sucks! Margo's is not the place to go if you want good Mexican food, you might as well go to Taco Bell. Their queso (cheese sauce) is WAY too salty, so those with salt restrictions beware. Also, their rellenos are soggy, and greasy, not at all what rellenos should be. Sorry, thumbs down on this place. [26 May 2006 13:46:28]

IF YOU KNOW MEXICAN FOOD, YOU KNOW MARGO'S! I have lived in New Mexico all my life and have grown up on Mexican food. There is no Mexican food restaurant that compares to Margo's. My family and I eat there at least twice a week and have done so for the past seven years and every dish is made as if it has come from your own kitchen and anytime you have a problem with your meal the staff works hard to get it right for you. You could make a meal on their chips and salsa alone!! [22 Jan 2007 10:07:51]

Decent Place, Good Service, Average Food! Margo's is fairly roomy for a Mexican restaurant. Lots of parking in the front. It is a little dark inside, but the service is good, the atmosphere friendly. It is well managed. The bathrooms are OK. The menu seemed a tad narrow...mostly your usual New Mex cuisine. We found the food to be rather pedestrian. The chalupa was OK, nothing remarkable. A little tostada with refried beans, lettuce etc. The enchilada was mediocre and the red sauce sub-par. The taco had a gringo-like hard shell and the ground beef was nothing remarkable. The chile relleno was probably the best part of the meal. It was OK and the green chile sauce covering it was not bad, but far from the best. A lot of cheese on top and fairly thick coating. The chips were robust and had a good corn flavor. The salsa was spicy and flavorful...I liked the salsa and would rate it above average. All-in-all, I liked the restaurant but the food is simply average for these parts...nothing special. It certainly does not live up to its reputation, and I have eaten at over a hundred Mexican restaurants in the desert Southwest and I know what I'm talking about. [12 Sep 2007 18:11:28]
