OK but not the best
Good all-around buffet that also includes a few American dishes. Most of it is sort of bland. But, I prefer more spicy flavor in my Chinese food. A fair place to eat.    [12 Feb 2004 20:54:36]

You just need to ask
Really this is the best Chinese food restaurant in Carlsbad. It is clean, it is beautiful, and the owners are friendly. If you've got a large group coming in, you may want to ask ahead of time which dishes on the menu would work best. Include things like, "Oh but my brother doesn't like spicy foods" or if there's anyone that cannot have peanuts, etc. Ask Connie. She can suggest some wonderful dishes.    [20 Jul 2007 16:25:13]

Okay, but expensive for what you get
The place is beautiful, the staff is friendly, but the food is indeed bland. The only dish I can safely consume without being very disappointed is the Sweet and Sour Chicken/Pork. If you are with a group of more than, say, 3-4 people, be prepared to wait a VERY long time as there are few other dining options in town. With this also comes a feeling of being shoved in the tiny dining room almost against fire code. I like the Chinese place farther down the road in the old converted Golden Corral much better, less expensive, more variety, and I have never had to wait, even with a large group.    [02 Aug 2007 12:43:47]
