Great ol' joint! Simple but excellent food, wonderful atmosphere. This old west saloon & restaurant is designed for families on one side of the building, saloon denizens on the other. The saloon has pool tables, Harley shirts and an old wooden bar to belly up to. The vibe is so good that you can't stop smiling while you're here. [11 Jul 2003 16:08:15]

I am from San Diego and work from time to time in the Jemez Springs/Valles Caldera reserve. Los Ojos is a great place. The locals hang in at the bar and add to the flavor of the place. I've tried prime rib, green chile famous burger-fries combo, regular chile, potato soup and think they are all good. I can't wait to try all the dishes. I love the atmosphere. [30 Dec 2005 19:31:09]

Old West, Rustic Feel We visited the Los Ojos recently on a great circle drive from Albuquerque, to Jemez Springs, Valles Caldera, Bandelier National Mounument, and back through Pojoaque and Santa Fe. This is an old building! I don't know how old, but the ceiling in the bar area where we ate was made of ornamental tin! My companion had a burrito, and I had the green chile cheeseburger, with side of "seasoned" fries. Now, I'm a long time New Mexican, used to Southwest dishes, but the seasoning on the fries must have been red chile pepper! Hot! The green chile on the excellent burger was mild in comparison, and the two together required three refills of iced tea. My friend, being from Ohio, had "reasoned" to order her chile "on the side," and even a few teaspoons were more than enough to light her palate up a notch. Great atmosphere, and "interesting" bar patrons. If you're with kids, sit in the section away from the bar, but take a look at the latter while you're waiting for your order. Our wait was fairly long for a weekday, lunch...about 35 minutes, but it was worth it. [18 Oct 2007 13:13:00]
