Very Good Pies
Haven't sat and eaten here before, but we take home the pies. OMG, the pies are the best. My wife and I were watching FoodTV and they had a special on pies. We found this restaurant and feel lucky it is near our home.    [12 Mar 2003 17:34:55]

Wow Must Go Again.
We were on the way to visit my husband's sister who is a cloistered nun in Vermont. We just happened upon Grandma's. Now we cannot wait to go back again so we can go to Grandma's.    [01 Apr 2003 22:34:47]

Just the very very best restaurant.
It was my first time eating Saturday evening with my son and fiancee and I have to tell you not only did the gorgeous decorations appeal to me the minute we pulled into the parking lot, the inside is also so beautiful. The staff is awesome and I will be back. Now on to my favorite part of the dinner besides all of it, the cream of turkey soup is the very best I have ever had, and it is so perfect in the texture. It just is the most wonderful place. Thank you for sharing all of the wonderful things and food and pies with all of us.    [09 Sep 2003 06:59:43]

Grandma's Pies- It's a tradition
This year we forgot to order our pies. I braved the traffic and lines because it's not Thanksgiving without Grandma's pies. The line for customers that didn't pre-order moved quickly and having the cops direct traffic was nice. Kudos again to Grandma's.    [03 Dec 2003 17:40:20]

Mediocre
I've been here about 10 times (because it's in walking distance to work and I have lazy co-workers). Granted, the cream of turkey soup is very good. However, after that I really don't see what all the hoopla is about. The other food (fish, beef, etc.) is very plain. The pies are definitely nothing to write home about. I don't get it. A restaurant needs to offer me more than soup in order for me to recommend it. The service is uneven. Some days it's very good, other times the staff will ignore you. I also do not think that there is a good price/quantity ratio (you don't get a lot of food relative to the cost). I've dropped $12 to $15 on lunch for 1 person (burger and fries or a club sandwich).    [30 Apr 2004 16:02:57]

Great pies and much more.
We never visit the Albany area without a stop here. Save some room for pie.    [03 May 2004 14:24:08]

OH do I miss it!
I moved away to California and boy, do I miss this place! The food is fabulous...the cream of turkey soup, beef pot roast, chicken with stuffing, meat loaf....I could keep going:)    [17 Jan 2006 16:42:37]

Down the tubes
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Grandma's is under new (mis)management and had fired almost all the staff and raised prices. The food has become awful and the service is slow, impersonal and sometimes surly.
I won't be going back and I'd advise anybody else to go elsewhere as well.
DON"T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!    [30 Jul 2006 22:23:59]
