Crescent Beach Is on Lake Ontario. One of the worst dinners I have had and the service was just as disappointing. Not the first, but also the second time the dinner was sent back to the chef to be cooked. I, for one, do not eat raw meat.
Greeted and seated quickly, the order was taken and salads were served within 15 minutes but we waited close to another hour after that for our meal. Not once did anyone offer more water, coffee, anything. The waitress finally came around to ask how things were. Believe that? Things were not going well because we were still waiting for our dinners!
Highly priced for what was received. I have spoken with several other people experiencing the same. A letter to the manager proved no response either. Service, quality of the food, food being edible, and overall experience I would not recommend this restaurant. [20 Jan 2005 07:22:21]

Crescent Beach What a great restaurant! My husband and I just moved to the area and were told to go to Crescent Beach. It was a great choice. The ambiance is wonderful. Lake Ontario is spectacular, the food was excellent, and the service just as great. They were hosting a wedding the night we went and it was just beautiful. We were seated promptly and our server couldn't have been more attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. [06 Mar 2006 14:17:51]

A Tight Squeeze Yes, good food, ambiance, and service. But the tables were set up so tight, during a birthday party that no one could easily squeeze in and out while everyone was seated. This discouraged people from going up to the buffet line more frequently, and made it very uncomfortable. The space between one seated and the one behind was about 10 inches, or less. It was way uncomfortable. [08 May 2006 13:35:57]

A Lovely Place to Dine The atmosphere was pleasant, the view was lovely, the service was good. The food was terrific and not too badly priced. The serving sizes were generous to a fault. [13 Aug 2006 19:05:38]

Christmas Buffet After reading all the great reviews, decided to try it... It was rather disappointing. Prime rib was good, but not much selection. What there was tasted like cafeteria food. And no dessert! Probably will not return. Have had better food at half the price elsewhere. [26 Dec 2006 10:40:38]

Crescent Beach Hotel After reading the very negative review here, I thought I would write. I've been here twice and had a great experience both times; food was very good, service was good, and Christmas decorations wonderful. Give it another chance! [20 Jan 2007 15:28:59]

Very Unsatisfactory We went to Crescent Beach to celebrate an anniversary. Drinks and food were both very over priced.
I got the rack of lamb and could hardly eat it; the taste was unbelievably horrible with lots of fat. I left most of it. No vegetables other than a dab of mashed potatoes, which were OK.
The waitress was neither friendly nor unfriendly; she just didn't spend that much time with us. We had clams casino appetizer, which was slimy. The whole night was a $100 waste of money.
I did enjoy the view outside the window though. [28 Jan 2007 13:28:33]

Dine at the Crescent Beach Hotel My husband and I make it a priority to have dinner on the patio at the Crescent Beach each summer. The view of the lake is spectacular - you feel like you are NOT in Rochester, New York!
Our dinners have always been good, but I believe they have a new chef and last year’s dinner was outstanding. My dinner was pan seared sea scallops served with a corn purée and risotto. EXCELLENT!
My hope is that as they move forward with the addition of the inn and spa that they also spruce up the patio area a bit: Paint the iron furniture, hide some of their outdoor wiring that is in view, conceal and soften some of the outdoor lighting, and pay a little more attention to their gardens.
This place needs a little work outside, but it can and hopefully will be a true gem for the city of Rochester to be very proud of once they complete their renovations and addition. We are very much looking forward to the new Crescent Beach. [15 Feb 2007 11:32:36]

Pleasant Dinner and Beautiful Lake View We enjoyed the Crescent Beach restaurant. I had filet mignon medium well done and it was delcious; two women with me had chicken Francais. We had a table by the window looking out on Lake Ontario, and the waiter was attentive as could be. We would go back again, fortunately we live within a mile of it. [12 Sep 2007 08:41:26]
