Amish Market has multiple locations in NYC. There is no guarantee that the quality at one location, whether good or bad, is consistent with that of another, although we have no reason to believe them not to be.

Amish Market in Battery Park On a recent Sunday afternoon my husband and I stumbled on the Amish Market across from Battery Park. What a find. For our evening meal we purchased three items from the salad/prepared foods bar -- orzo with roasted garlic and mushrooms marinated in a balsamic vinaigrette, stuffed baby eggplant, and marinated artichokes. These were enjoyed with grilled, marinated tenderloin at home. Other offerings on the salad bar were eggplant/roasted pepper/mozzarella stacks, carrot salad, fresh fruit, various pasta salads, all beautifully presented and tempting. The Amish Market offers a gourmet market including an appealing variety of fresh fruit and vegetables displayed in a walk-in cool room, a fish market, a meat market, a delicatessen, the salad bar with at least 20 items including daily specials, a bakery, a great selection of oils and vinegars, etc. The staff is helpful and friendly. For the apartment dweller or the last minute picnic the Amish Market is the best stop. [21 Jul 2002 12:42:50]
