Excellent Ethiopian food The food was excellent! True to it's Ethiopian roots, I was thoroughly impressed and delighted to be able to eat such good Ethiopian food here in America. [17 Nov 2004 17:44:37]

Awesome It is a family owned business with excellent food, really! We loved to eat there; if you have never tried Ethiopian food we recommend it, it is impossible not to like it. You eat with your own hands with a kind of pancake type of sponge bread. It is a truly unique experience, and very delicious as well. Very comfortable, friendly atmosphere. But to truly enjoy the food you must come in hungry, as you are sure to leave full and satisfied. [02 Mar 2006 21:04:32]

good stuff I became addicted to Ethiopian food when I lived a few blocks away from Adams Morgan in D.C. Adam Morgan is lined with many an Ethiopian restaurant.
Abyssinia is one of the best I've been to regardless of city.
It is a family owned business. The food is deliciously prepared by the wife, and served by the husband. The kids are sometimes there doing their homework.
There are regulars at the bar who are often engaged in lively discussion. This is an informal place. If you want candlelight and sumptiousness...this is not the place. If you want to impress someone with that little hole in the wall with good food that feels like a discovery - this is it.
Because the owner is the only one serving, sevice can be a little slow at times - but it's all worth it - for the warm feeling, and excellent food. [18 Jul 2006 08:50:22]

Delicious The Abyssinia is by far the best Eethiopian restaurant that I have ever been to. The atmosphere is very conducive to pleasant eating and I thoroughly enjoy every eating experience I have there. I recommend anything vegetarian. [02 Jul 2007 13:43:38]

One of My Favorites My family is vegetarian and we love the variety and flavor of the vegetarian dishes at Abyssinia. The service is good and the atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. The food sometimes takes a while to prepare, but it is well worth the wait! [06 Nov 2007 22:23:56]
