Description

The restaurant sits next to the Genessee River in downtown Rochester in what was formerly a train station. The place is mostly dark, wood floors and wood paneled walls. The decor is close to a standard TGI Friday's-like place with a more local twist. Of particular interest is the array of license plates from around the country over the bar. Bumper stickers are also plastered haphazardly over the bar area. The place is normally pretty busy and loud with the volume peaking at the bar area, which also has high tables for eating. They have blues bands come in most nights which keeps the place rocking till close.

Most dishes are reasonable, $25 will let you bring home lunch the next day. A lot of southern style dishes including pulled pork (NC-style) and brunswick stew. Corn bread, greens, fried green tomatoes, chili, beans and rice, you get the picture. The bar is well stocked with beer and other spirits the service is usually fast.

Best Barbeque in the Northeast
You won't be disappointed! The food is fantastic and the restaurant is so unique that the combination makes it a must for anyone who lives in or visits Rochester.    [01 Nov 2003 14:02:33]

Disappointed in Takeout
For a Famous BBQ restaurant I got a drop of BBQ sauce on my pulled pork takeout order today. Now I've gone back to work with my take out and no way to get any BBQ sauce for my food. Also the order wasn't ready when we arrived as promised.    [19 May 2006 13:57:35]
