Great place for great food

Worst. East Side Restaurant. Ever.
We walked in during a lull (only 3 tables full and they were all leaving) and sat there waiting for a menu. And we waited ... and waited ... the waitress bussed the table next to us without even looking over, then sat back down at the cluttered (and filthy) counter. After I saw this, and we sat there wiping away the dribbled milk on our booth seats, I decided to play it out. So we sat and waited FOR THIRTEEN MINUTES in the middle of this small, dirty dining room and none of the several workers even said hello! I did notice that the other people leaving didn't leave tips. This is a cheap cheap joint, maybe good for a tax write-off but you, Citizen Cleveland, would NEVER want to eat or be seen in there. It's the pits. Another place is just a few doors down ... normally I avoid chains but Washington Street Diner is SO bad, and SO dirty and downright AWFUL -- well, just humor me and try it yourself. Go into Washington St Diner and see how the staff treats you, see how unclean and messy it looks, see their gross-sounding specials like salami omelettes, note the cheap cast-off freshman art class rejects on the walls -- and then walk to another restaurant where it's clean and the workers are actual human beings who treat you like a member of their fellow species.    [27 Oct 2006 15:43:59]
