I once actually thought about working as a chef there to learn some recipes I've always liked the Mad Greek a lot, ever since I was a child in the 80s. I can only attest to what I've eaten of course, which is the same thing every time: humus with pita, baba, and chicken tikka (6 grades of heat). When I think of Cleveland, I think of the Mad Greek, and then I salivate Pavlov-style. The food is quite consistent despite different chefs. I believe the restaurant is run by the son of the founder. The founder was an Indian, and his wife is Greek. The restaurant has both Greek and Indian cuisine. The ambiance is unique. The service has always been better than most restaurants, I guess. (I would say if I was in the electric chair and I could have anything I wanted to eat as a final wish, I'd say go to the Mad Greek and get me some chicken tikka, humus, and their pita bread.) Mad Greek is the place to go in Cleveland Mad Greek is the place to go in Cleveland. Fabulous Greek, Indian, and American dishes served in a very cool setting !! One side of the restaurant has a Greek theme and is very comfortable and spacious. On the other side, there is a full service bar and a dining room where the front windows go up for the Spring and Summer months. We found their new Wine and Martini Lists to be outstanding. The traditional Greek and Indian food is served with a flare like no other restaurant around. Very unique and very accomodating. We had a party of 15 on a busy Saturday night with no reservations and they assembled a table in 10 minutes. Don't miss this place it does not dissapoint. [21 Apr 2004 13:54:29]

MAD GREEK IS GOOD FOR THE CLEVELAND CLINIC PATIENTS AFTER ABDOMINAL SURGERY AT THE CLEVELAND CLINIC, I HAD MY FOLLOW-UP VISIT SIX WEEKS LATER AND MY WIFE TOOK ME TO THE MAD GREEK (WHILE I WAS RECUPERATING FROM SURGERY AND "EATING" CHICKEN BROTH AND JELL-O IN THE HOSPITAL), SHE HAD BEEN SAMPLING CLEVELAND'S RESTAURANTS AND MAD GREEK WAS HER FAVORITE -- SHE TOOK ME THERE ON MY NEXT VISIT AND IT WAS MY FAVORITE MEAL DURING THE LAST SEVERAL MONTHS -- HUMMUS AND GYRO PLATTER WAS EXCELLENT --GOOD OLIVES AND EXCELLENT PITA. Mad Greek Cleveland Heights Much more spacious and open than it appears from the street, the Mad Greek features a stellar menu of Mediterranean classics, offering diners a locale with a chic `on holiday` feel. From the hummus appetizer to the entrees (which range from honey-glazed lamb chops to Halibut Aegean -- broiled fish marinated in tarragon wine sauce and topped with Parmesan cheese), the Mad Greek has appeal beyond the feta-laced standards. The lunch menu also includes basic gyro sandwiches and pita melts. For those who have never tried the flashy Greek appetizer saganaki (fried-cheese flambe), this is as good a place as any to start. In those precious few months of warm Cleveland weather, the glass facade miraculously rolls up to transform the bar area an open patio. The restaurant is situated near a row of upper scale boutiques, making it a fine choice for a midday shopping break. [11 Dec 2005 16:24:42]

Not the best thing since sliced bread Don't get me wrong; the food is good and the atmosphere is fine. But to get the best experience from this restaurant, it is a good plan to just order appetizers. [18 Dec 2005 18:32:54]
