review it add a link TOP 10 Restaurants for 2005 - The Columbus Dispatch, By Jon Christensen, 28 April 2005; To many, Kihachi is one of the best restaurants of any type around and, now that it's smoke-free, a wide range of quiet seating is available behind the unassuming facade in a strip center. Chef-owner Ryuji ''Mike'' Kimura asserts his passion for fresh ingredients of the highest quality. Don't look for a big sushi operation (although you certainly can order sushi), and don't expect a big menu of Japanese restaurant cliches (although you can order exquisitely done tempura, among other familiar dishes). Look instead at the appetizer specials, which will be recited with some translations by the one or two servers who speak English (this restaurant caters primarily to a Japanese clientele), because the appetizers best reflect that day's choice ingredients. You might order a vegetable, or a type of mushroom or other simple ingredient, prepared in the simplest possible manner and elegantly presented to showcase its essential qualities. Be prepared to pay market price. So concentrate on appetizers and finish with one of the ''light meals'' from the printed menu. Serving dinner only Monday through Saturday; all nonsmoking; ample parking. - suggest change You'll want to make John Belushi faces at the chefs who are as serious as Samurai in the kitchen. This food is so authentic you'll think you're turning Japanese. - CitySearch, Libby - suggest change Show 10 | 20 | 30 | 50 reviews on each page Authentic
