Description

Victorian's Midnight Cafe

A little hole in the wall that has a large following. Lot's of open-mic type stuff. Serving: American casual cuisine, also described as a coffee house. Or as described in this definition by the owner:
"Victorian's Midnight Cafe (vik-tor)
1. an eclectic home for people wanted or unwanted. Loyal patrons refer to her as the "hub of weirdness" where all walks of life come and go. A refreshing gateway from reality, a place to find a warm smile and friendship. Come visit and enjoy!"

Visit their Web site (link on left side of this page) for a list of events including entertainment, special open mic events and a beer club where you can choose from 100 brands. Breakfast is served from 9AM to 2PM, while the lunch/dinner menu is served from 11AM to Midnight. Delivery available in the local area from 11AM to 2:30PM.

The decor is very artistic, connecting it to the Short North and Victorian Village area in which it is located. A short menu includes macaroni & cheese, bagels, donuts and quiche. This is a no smoking cafe.

The Scene - CitySearch.com, By Karen Sottosanti; ..... Victoria's is a comfortable mess, filled with overstuffed furniture and abstract paintings. The walls are covered with eye-catching black-and-white murals. On weekend nights, local musicians crowd onto the small stage that fills the coffee shop's front window. ......... - suggest change
Victorian's Midnight Cafe - Digital City, by Marcia Schonberg; ......Even the menu says this coffeehouse/meeting place/restaurant is the "hub of weirdness." The decor seems to fit the bill: blue-violet painted walls corniced in pink, tin ceilings and linoleum floors decorated with local art hanging between antiques carted in from the owner's other business across the street. You can count on "big fat subs" and other comfort foods like homemade mac 'n cheese and chili. ........ - suggest change
Victorian's Midnight Cafe - BeerAdvocate.com, by AtLagerHeads; ......This is kind of a homemade place; by that I mean that this place not your cookie cutter type of pub. The furniture is like from your living room, the paintings are American Gothic style handywork, and the corner building in which it resides is not built to hold what it holds today. I particularly liked the chessboards with matches in progress, but players absent.......... - suggest change

Victorians Rules!
Victorians is a small, Bohemian heaven and haven. The owners are delightful people who happily mingle with the customers, the food hits the spot in a way nothing else can, and they have a nice selection of coffee, speciality sodas, and beer. Great for students, locals, writers, artists, and anyone else who loves great company, food, and late night fun.    [28 Jul 2000 17:17:35]
