Best Dang Ribs in the World
Like most Okies, I grew up around Bob's BBQ. Started in 1952 in an oilfield shack, now with three locations and growing. Literally has a world-wide reputation - and deservedly so! Secret recipes and techniques, passed down from Bob Leonard himself, give each dish unique and unmatched quality. The ribs are absolutely the best. The brisket is peppery and tender, the pulled pork is perfect. Side dishes not to miss are the corn cobbets deep fried in spicy corn meal, onion bale and the waffle fries. I was not impressed.
I have eaten at some of the best BBQ restaurants in the Midwest including the one in KC. I also realize that there may be an off night but I never had one quite this bad. My family and I had just moved to Ada and everyone has told us that Bob's was the place to go. We ordered carry out tonight (6 pm) and overall, the food was terrible. From the sliced beef (they do not offer sliced brisket as I was later told) and pork ribs. The beef had been soaked in au juice thus running out of the carry out container and into the bag; luckily the bag did not leak and get over my upholstery. They put the 'Bob's World Famous Barbeque Sauce' in a separate container which much to our dismay was nothing but 'au juice'. We ordered the boiled corn on the cob which looked as though it was left over from lunch; I think it was soaked in au juice which might explain its brownish coloration. Other than this, the cole slaw, potato salad and fried okra were the only remotely enjoyable items.
The ribs would have been great but since we only had au juice to put on them, I wound up using some KC Masterpiece I had in the refrigerator to give it some flavor.
After spending $42 to feed my small family of 4 (which I wouldn't have minded if the food was better), it will be a long time before I order from there again.
I was hoping to join my review with my other barbeque connoisseurs and was looking forward to a great meal. Maybe Thursday evenings are not good nights?    [19 Dec 2003 00:02:16]

BEST EVER!!!
I lived in Oklahoma the better part of my life. Bobs Bar B Que is the BEST Bar B Que, not only Me but ALL of my Family and Friends have Ever HAD!

Anyone that doesn't like it, must have something WAY wrong with their taste buds.

THE BEST!
I grew up not far from Ada and my family made regular visits to Bob's for BBQ. There is none better. After moving to NE Oklahoma I am convinced of that. People here have no clue what great BBQ is.
