New location, old attitude
This place is not bad, to be honest, but yet, it is not that good either! We've been there many times, early in the morning, at noon, most anytime, and they seem to always be out of bread. Can't they make enough? Maybe it is the "laid back" attitude, or since they've already made enough "dough" for the day, they don't care... and it is a pity, because the bread, when available, is quite good.
Their new location has sandwiches and a nice deli, but the "laid back, we're too cool to help you" attitude by some employees left a sour taste in our mouths. They are lucky they are only one of the few places to get bread and a decent sandwich around, otherwise, they would have been closed by now.    [10 Jul 2006 18:24:24]

Perfect beach bakery
I'm not sure what other reviewers are talking about in terms of service, but to each their own. The staff doesn't necessarily heap fake smiles and mindless small talk like you might find at chain places, but they've always been courteous and prompt. More importantly, the food and drinks are among the best bakery food I've had. I take vacations in Manzanita in large part because I know there is a great coffee shop/bakery to go with the beach.    [25 Dec 2007 19:14:46]
