Description
The food is teriyaki diner fare, the exterior is unassuming, and the interior is plain but clean. The only sign that can be easily seen from the street is for the Union Gospel Mission Thrift Store with the word Teriyaki underneath. The only relationship between the two businesses is that the restaurant space is leased.
Smaller lunch dishes, served with steamed rice and cabbage salad, are available from 10:30am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Dinners are served all day and can be served with steamed rice, fried rice, or noodles.

Good teriyaki food and dining in Tigard, OR This place seems to be one of the rare restaurant gems these days - good food and good service.
Food:
While the stock dishes are what you would expect from any good teriyaki diner, what makes it better than most is that all of the dishes are not just copies with different ingredients. The chicken, beef, and BBQ pork teriyaki dishes do not taste the same with a different meat added.
As long as you do not show up in the middle of the lunch rush, there is no problem asking for changes in preparation or even bringing in your own ingredients and having them added to your dish. (Fellow chileheads will understand about that last part.) The only thing I have not been able to get is properly cooked pot stickers - but that is understandable since the cook only has room for one wok.
My favourite dishes so far are the Mongolian beef, spicy chicken teriyaki, and house fried rice. My wife enjoys the chicken yakisoba, vegetable yakisoba, and vegetable rice bowl.
Details that I felt were lacking are probably more personal taste than anything. To me Mongolian beef should always be served with green onions, not yellow; the teriyaki sauce should be a bit more sour, and all of the dishes should be a bit heavier on the vegetables without having to make a special request.
Service:
Great! After three visits me and my wife were being called by name and after a while I noticed that many customers were coming in to set tables on certain days without ever hearing the phone ring.
Interior:
Not much to say here except that the place is clean. Minor improvements have been made over the past six years, but the place could be serving burgers and fries and you would not feel out of place inside.
Exterior:
As you can see from the restaurant photo, which was taken from the sidewalk, the place is nondescript. There is also a large hedge off to the right of the photo that hides the place from south-bound traffic. If you do not know it is there, then you will miss it. [02 Jun 2007 20:54:11]

Great Teriyaki, and GREAT service I've been eating there for over 13 years, and all I can say is that the food is ADDICTING.
I've tried other teriyaki places, but nothing compares to the House of Teriyaki. My favorite dish would have to be the chicken teriyaki. I also really like the: mongolian beef, beef yakisoba, shrimp bowl.
They should retouch a few things inside of the restaurant, but other than that, it looks fine.
I agree with the guy above, the service is great and the lady that works there also remembers my order.
If you haven't been there, then you should go and try it!!! You won't regret it, trust me! [07 Mar 2008 02:59:24]
