Description
The Blue Horse is a neighborhood restaurant, serving a New American menu. The menus (including special bar and dessert menus) focus strongly on local ingredients and dishes made fresh on the premises.
They offer conventional and specialty drinks, a wine by the glass menu, and moderately priced wines by the bottle.
All of their food is available for take-away.
The Blue Horse serves up live music several nights a week, ranging from acoustic rock to folk and blues to gypsy jazz.

Skip it! I have only been to The Blue Horse once and that was enough for me. The service was beyond terrible. We rarely saw our waitress and when we did she was rude. We were in a group of 8 and our meals all came out at different times. Mine specifically was about 10 minutes after the others and the swordfish I had ordered was not completely cooked. I ended up eating some of my friend's dinners, but that didn't stop them from charging us for the dinner. The same was true for the desserts. Of what I did eat, the food was mediocre, at best. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. [19 Jul 2006 18:45:27]

excellent restaurant I have been going here for a while now. They seemed to have had a problem in late 2005, but now seem better then ever. [29 Jul 2006 15:11:33]

Wonderful Meal and Service Went with friends to celebrate a birthday. Our group of 9 was promptly seated and given excellent service. Our waiter gave great app and entree suggestions and the food and presentation pleased us all. [01 Oct 2006 22:56:48]

Take a trip back to the Blue Horse! My husband and I celebrated our anniversary dinner and for people who have long enjoyed the greatest of Philly's restaurants, I would rate everything about our meal as tops among the best meals we've had. Definitely try the Veal Oscar and Tuna! Preparations were flavorful and multi-faceted and we can't wait to go back again! We would be remiss not to mention the waitress who was extraordinary, too!
