Terrible When a Middle Eastern restaurant "runs out" of hummus on a Saturday night, you know something is wrong. Also, their eggplant entree consisted of bland, plain eggplant slices stuck on top of some green pepper. Service is also very bad. Don't go there. [03 Jun 2002 11:20:02]

Great Food, Good Service Our meal at Al Dana II was wonderful in every respect. The lentil soup was the best we've ever tasted. The service was not as fast as one might hope, but by no means terrible. [01 Apr 2003 17:32:01]

Outstanding selection of appetizers with really interesting seasoning. The first time cauliflower has ever tasted good to my son (and in general, a great selection of vegetarian entrees, in addition to fish and meat dishes). Some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered in a restaurant. [17 Jul 2003 16:26:56]

Best Middle Eastern Food in Philly We were introduced to this restaurant by Lebanese friends who said it was the only place they had found with authentic, home-style food. It has become our favorite restaurant and we recommend it highly (though we hope it doesn't get overcrowded). [13 Aug 2003 11:42:13]

Absolutely incredible dining experience! We have been frequenting this establishment for more than two years now and we are at a literal loss for words when trying to describe not only the eclectic and unique cuisine, but also the homey and friendly atmosphere. The staff is superb, the menu is superior and the overall experience is enchanting. This restaurant glorifies the existent Philadelphia restaurant scene and certainly stands out as an ethnic landmark in Chestnut Hill. As many of our friends and acquaintances would agree, Al’Dana is one of the most unique dining experiences that has ever graced the streets of Philadelphia. [15 Jan 2004 14:26:30]

One of my best experiences in dining I can recommend two great appetizers- the cauliflower with garlic and lemon (FAKHRIA) and the slices of baked eggplant with special sauce (BATINJAN MAQLEE). Entrees are terrific as well. Last night we had the MAKLOUBEI and loved it. This is also a great place for vegetarians. Don't miss this great dining experience. [04 Jan 2006 20:27:05]

A wonderful vegetarian experience...and I'm not even vegetarian. I don't usually opt for vegetarian, but last night I tried their spinach dish and was utterly impressed. It was a little tart, a little salty (from the feta)...just the right amount of flavor to go with the rice. My friend had the eggplant, and that was good, too. For dessert, we had the delicious rice pudding. It was also a delightful surprise to find out that they had a bellydancer on the weekends. This was my first Middle Eastern restaurant in this area, and I am completely satisfied. [05 Feb 2006 08:43:37]
