Too few items to choose from on the menus. The pasta was underdone. The wait for the food was too long (45 min). Bread was given out as if it was rationed. Not handicap friendly.    [28 Sep 2003 11:47:30]

not worth the wait
Food is ok but not worth 30 min to appetizer, 30 min to childrens' dishes then another 30 min to ours, and hostess was unresponsive to our concerns    [17 May 2004 14:55:20]

excellent food and excellent service ~ it does get crowded on the weekends and is not a good match for children    [09 Dec 2005 23:41:28]

Amazing food
The first time I went here, I was seriously doubtful. Now I go as often as I can make it (and afford it)

The food at Ooka is very expensive, but it's certainly good enough to be considered worth it. Go expecting any entree to be above $15 - 20 though.

The other slightly annoying aspect is that many of the staff appear to be Japanese exchange students or something, and some of them have fairly heavy accents. It's not that hard to understand them though, and the food is most certainly worth it.    [21 Dec 2005 13:52:48]

Mediocre Food/Poor Service
I think my headline says it all. The food here isn't terrible, it's just mediocre and certainly not worth the price, especially since three or four top restaurants nearby at virtually the same price deliver wonderful food with decent service. Miss this one.    [27 Dec 2005 21:06:29]

Great location, good food, abysmal service
The location is wonderful, and if you like
pasta, the pasta can be excellent.

Unfortunately, the owner just doesn't seem
to care about how his wait staff treats
people. They seem mostly to be young
girls hired for their face or figure,
and are clueless as to how to serve
customers. At least at 'Hooters' they
train their staff. You wait endlessly
for a waitress to show up, little things
like bread and parmesan that should be
expected don't show up, etc.    [25 May 2006 17:42:02]

not worth it
I frequented Pag's back when they were across the street in the smaller place that the owner's brother now runs (the wine bar). Back then the food was delicious and worth the price. But now, no way! And the menu hasn't changed in years. I know the owner, and he seems to have lost any caring about the customers and unfortunately, he has said denegrating remarks about Americans(he says it in French). I find that the hostess, who is usually the wife of the owner, also seems not to care much unless you are "someone special". So now the only time I go is for the Tiramisu, which is the best Tiramisu I have ever had and I have been all over testing Tiramisu. It reminds of the best tiramisu that I had in France, right on the Border on Italia.    [22 Nov 2006 15:45:51]

Surly service, mediocre food
I have tried this place a number of times and it's just not very good. A shame since the building is so nice. The wait staff has a real attitude problem. My friend ordered spaghetti w/ meat sauce and there was no discernible meat. When she asked, Where's the meat? they assured here there was plenty of meat, just that it could not be seen by the naked eye. Hmmm. Maybe one needs a microscope. I also saw people come in, wait and wait, and finally leave in exasperation.    [25 Jan 2008 11:09:14]
