Terrible Went there for drinks one evening this winter with two friends...the wait staff was snobbish and too busy smoking and talking on the phone to barely seat us. They wine knowledge was poor, considering the place is a wine bar. And there were about 4 appetizers to order from...we got the cheese plate which consisted of 4 olives, 4 small gerkin pickles, 5 small cubes of cheese, and 5 thinly sliced pieces of proscuitto... for the small fee of like $30!!! The place is a joke. [13 Mar 2003 15:36:21]

Great place I agree with the first person about their knowledge of their selection. They really should get someone with a little more experience. Considering I'm rather familiar with wine, we had no problems. The place looks great and has great looking people inside.
Cool music too. Check it out...they are still new and working out the kinks. [25 Apr 2003 20:33:52]

$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I too somewhat agree with the first two critics. A friend and I were there some time ago and we too experienced poor service, poor knowledge and meager sized portions. For the price we paid for a glass of wine, we could have bought a bottle from any local wine and spirits establishment. I was so disappointed that after one sip and a bite I wanted to go home. wow, over 30 and want to relax with a glass of wine? Anyone, especially if your a female, who wants to have a nice glass of wine and talk or not, this is the place to be. No hype, no crowds, no noise, and no pick up. Like being in your home but the music is great, the staff laid back and the wine is good. is there another bar around where two woman can go and relax, or two guys for that matter, who just want to have a conversation? not in Dtown. This is the spot. [25 Mar 2006 21:19:45]

Excellent The Wine Bar is just as Kitsch as a French American Wine bar can be. Quiet personal time, a nice glass of wine with just a taste of appropriate cheese. A great grab for apertifs. Though, I really enjoyed the Champagne drink for minicelebration.
And, a wonderful place not to pack on the pounds. [08 Apr 2007 12:44:42]

wine bar no way Listen, if you're a woman who wants a bottle of wine to drink and think this is a great place - it's time you put down the white zinfadel and just give up. A wine bar isn't about peddling cheap booze, it's about offering a variety of wines from around the world. This place offers 10 differernt types of white zins. What about a Russian River pinot at an entry price or a step above? What a good chianti instead of jug wine? Dolcetto? No? Albarino? Never heard of it? Do not start or own a wine bar if you don't like wine. This is what happens when you are greedy and you can count on silly ignorant people to drink junk because they never took the time to know any better. But don't punish the rest of us by calling yourself a wine bar. And I've met the owner, who openly admits he doesn't drink wine. It's just about money. People get ripped off elsewhere. BTW, ownership: continue to be rude to people, lets see how that works in the long run. What a joke! People who love wine: run as fast as you can. People who think they love wine but actually don't: call this place home. [03 Oct 2007 18:44:20]
