Disappointing Evening After raving about this place - its presentation of the dishes & the food (I had been there before - I found myself apologizing to my guest for the lack of presentation & the food itself. My guest requested the steak be medium well done - it was presented almost raw. After sending it back it was presented still not medium done. My guest could not eat it. The food seemed to be just plopped down on the dish. Overpriced for what you get! [19 Jan 2003 17:30:16]

Very Disappointed, Too Incredibly expensive for the quality of the food -- very unequal and dishes sometimes not really inspired. [22 Aug 2003 23:33:15]

A Perfect Anniversary Last weekend, my wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary at The Black Walnut. We found everything to be wonderful: food, service, atmosphere, etc. Particularly, my wife's sea bass was outstanding! It was a special that evening, but if you are fortunate enough to have the opportunity, please try it! The Black Walnut made our already special evening something to remember. [14 Sep 2003 11:55:26]

Family and Friends Gathering I have had the pleasure of eating there twice and the first time I invited over 50 people for a special occasion on a Sunday afternoon. They informed my wife and I that they would open up early just for our get together. They were able to handle that many people without any problems. The food was outstanding. We ordered all different styles (Thai,Seafood,Pasta,Peppered Pork)and everything from the salad to the dessert was absolutely delicious. Service was warm and friendly and the presentation was unique and exquisite. Our guests raved about the day and everyone said that they would definitely return. It was truly a fine dining experience. Brilliant We love Thai food, and thought the Black Walnut raised the bar. We were well attended to, and the meal was perfect. We are picky, and considering the soup, appetizers, and entree were all up to standard - that is really saying a lot. We will be back with friends. [12 Nov 2004 16:36:58]

Good ambience and Thai food Our early June 2005 lunch at Siam Cuisine at the Black Walnut was great. The quaint, old inn looking restaurant served delicious tasting lemon grass soup, ginger chicken, and Chilean sea bass in a tamarind ginger sauce. The $10 soup and main entree special was a great deal. [18 Jun 2005 10:56:19]

WWhen is Thai food NOT Thai food? Gummy clumpy rice. Sharp ends of sauteed green beans not trimmed. Waiter did not know correct utensils for serving Thai foods - Fork and Tablespoon; he provided Fork and Teaspoon for eating Thai curry. Mr. Chumlong Deengdeelert has endowed this particular restaurant with a Boor of a manager who exhibits crudish behavior toward customers and help alike. A most disappointing evening.
