Not as Good as It Used to Be
On Feb 13th 2003 I went with some frineds to celebrate my birthday a day early. As my birthday is on Valentine's day we figured it would be hard to get in somewhere.

Our service was quite mediocre there. My friend and I had the ribs. The sauce was horrible and they weren't cooked well and the portions were quite small. Our server had little to no personality, and was slow. Our appetizers were skimpy and not worth the price at all.

As a teen I loved going with my family to the Depot for dinner but it has gone way downhill in the past few years.    [06 Mar 2003 23:17:37]

Poor
10 years ago, the Dansbury Depot ws my favorite restaurant. Now, I never go there. The food & menu selection isn't what it once was. I wrote to the Depot to let them know & they never responded. I doubt I'll go there again.    [13 Jun 2003 14:47:20]

Good Food / Right Price
This was our first visit to Dansbury Depot. Thought the food was great. Portions were enough to fill us up :)
Our waitress was pleasant, efficient, and prompt.
My son and I loved the model trains and the thought of eating on what was once a real train platform.

Pretty Good
I attend East Stroudsburg University and needed a place to eat with my parents on my birthday. after asking a few people, it was noticeable that the most common response I recieved was to go to Dansbury Depot. After eating there , I understood why they recommended it. I thought the food was delicious, the waitress was very friendly, and the place was decorated very cute. however, i thought it might have been a little too pricey...    [08 Nov 2004 12:37:27]

The food is overpriced. You don't get a salad with your meal anymore.

The food is mediocre. The service extremely slow and not courteous.

Like another reviewer, I agree that it was better just a few years ago. Also, like another reviewer, I wrote a complaint letter and received no reply.

I'm a local who frequents Dansbury Depot. Oddly enough, I had an experienece with a waiter probably at about the same time as the writer who wrote the review "Unfortunate First". The waiter was slow and inattentive to our needs. When we were finished dining, we waited forever for him to produce the check. When he finally brought it we sat for at least ten minutes waiting for him to return to pick up the check and credit card. Finally we got up and went directly to the cashier. He suddenly appeared, asking what we were doing. I paid the bill and handed him a dime tip. Fortunately, this was a one-time occurrence. Good Food, Pleasant Atmosphere
My family really enjoyed the Dansbury Depot. My son loved the trains that drive around the restaurant. The food is very good and the ingredients are fresh. I had the biggest BLT sandwich I have ever eaten in my life! It was very tasty. The children's menu offers many items that any child would be able to find something to eat. The deserts are incredible. I plan to go back, so that we can sample every one of them...You can't do them all in one sitting! The muffins that are served before dinner are very good, you can make a meal out of a plate of those! And the best part of the meal was the smoke free environment.
