Chuck and Ginny's Just a great place. My meals have always arrived hot. The portions are large. I alway leave full. The service is exceptional. My glass or coffee cup is never empty. I have never had to wonder where my server is at. The restaurant is always clean and tidy. The patrons are a good mix of neighborhood residents, people in business attire and families. Easily my favorite Italian restaurant. The prices are very reasonable. [03 Dec 1999 12:35:51]

Chuck and Ginnys I'm Italian and it's like going home, walk in sit down and momma takes care of you. Back to the basics, good food and friendly service. [11 Mar 2003 11:59:47]

Chuck and Ginnys A great sauce. Good portions. Great prices. An old-fashioned family owned restaurant. A great place to bring someone from out-of-town to taste the local flavor. [12 May 2003 12:41:16]

I have been going to Chuck and Ginny's Place for years. Everything about this restaurant is exceptional! Outstanding food and service. The sauce is easily the best I've ever tasted.

Not Up to the Hype on ChefMoz After being recommended Chuck and Ginny's and reading favorable reviews on this website, my wife and I had high hopes for this eatery. However, the overall experience was not up to my hopes.
Food- My wife selected the seafood Alfredo, however was disappointed with the amount and selection of seafood in the dish. A few small shrimp and the presence of imitation crabmeat was more fitting an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet. Generous portion of pasta; however the Alfredo sauce, while homemade, lacked any distinction and left my wife with a "this could have come out of a bottle" impression. $10
My dish fared somewhat better. I ordered the roasted garlic florentini with meatballs. My portion was less generous than my wife's, with two meatballs and perhaps 5 dumplings of moderate size. While the flavor of the sauce was very good, the meatballs were standard fare, and the florentini lacked any of the aforementioned mellow roast garlic flavor. $9
Fresh bread and spare salad come standard with meals. Decent prices kept our impression from being highly disappointed.
Service- was mediocre. We were pointed to an empty table from across the small dining area by a busy waiter. Waitstaff were pleasant but unprofessional, wearing restaurant logo tshirts. Drink glasses were not refilled.
Ambiance- very disappointing. The dining area was very small, with no room between my chair and another eater at another table. Cheap plastic green checkered tableclothstablecloths and an assortment of mismatched chairs pushed the ambiance away from the "characterful" side of the hole-in-the-wall continuum and towards the "just cheap" side.
There were many diners here when we went, so maybe this eatery is for you. However, in a city with so many options for dining, Chuck and Ginny's Place is pushed far down on our repeat list in favor of the possibility for more flavorful fare from an untested restraunt. [18 Jan 2006 04:21:17]

Simply the Best at Chuck & Ginny's I recently visited Erie, PA from South Dakota. My husband who is a native from PA took me to Chuck & Ginny's for dinner. I must say we had the most wonderful time! The food was outstanding, the service great and the people were so friendly. We were there for several hours. I brought some of their sauce home for my friends and everyone loves it. Thanks to everyone at Chuck & Ginny's for a wonderful evening! [02 Jan 2005 16:52:10]

I have been going to Chuck and Ginny’s since I was in a highchair, I am now in my 40s. I travel 70 miles one way just to have dinner there once a month with my special lady. The food is always delicious and service is great.
If you want to be a snob this is not the place for you. If you want great food in an atmosphere where everyone is family and the purpose is to be with good people for good food this is the place to be.
Now that Chuck and Ginny’s cans it sauce I have to ship jars every few months to Dad in Florida, sister in Indiana, and girlfriend has to take jars to coworkers in Pittsburgh.
Nothing better, don’t change a thing; some things are better left the way they are. [15 Oct 2006 18:51:39]

Good Stuff Ended up here 2 out of 3 nights on a business trip. Great portion size, good service, and excellent sauce! Looking forward to my next trip to Erie.
Don't expect linen tablecloths and a candlelight dinner. Do expect friendly service and great food. [02 Feb 2007 12:18:22]

Broken Hearted in Erie This fine Erie landmark has closed its doors. The owners however are making the sauce in a church kitchen once a week and it can be purchased at Frontier Pharmacy but they have trouble keeping it on the shelves. Not the same as the Chuck and Ginny experience but it will have to do! [26 Dec 2007 16:17:12]
