Unfriendly and Not Worth It I stayed at this establishment and would not recommend it to anyone. The innkeeper is unhelpful and unfriendly, bordering on rude. The food was good but for over $100 for soup, meal, dessert and 2 drinks, I would recommend going to your local 5 star restaurant and save the trip. If you stay in a room on the 2nd floor, you will be subjected to direct noise from the restaurant and pub until closing. Not for early retires. [10 Mar 2003 12:21:59]

Snobbish and Not Worthy This B&B may look great from the outside but the problems began as soon as I started to make arrangements for our stay. I had sent an e-mail to the woman in charge of reservations. I was bringing my dog with me for the night's stay so I inquired about the rules of the inn. She never e-mailed or called back. Even when I added an extra person in our room for the night, she didn't confirm. I decided it was just my imagination so I gave the inn another chance. We arrived about an hour early for our stay and we were greeted by the innkeeper. She showed us the room where we were to stay. I must admit, I fell in love with the room and its views. "The Cottage" is absolutely enchanting and the Delaware canal is literally 10 feet from your door. It is perfect for breakfasts on the porch or just for strolling. After a rather short introduction, the innkeeper left. Dinner reservations were set for 6 PM. We arrived to the restaurant on time and were seated quickly. The brief menu is what caught us off guard. There were about 6 entrees, 2 salads, and 7 appetizers. The prices were a bit disconcerting (ranges from $7-30). All in all, the food was good. For those who are not fans of garlic, make sure you tell your waitress because most of the dishes come packed with it! The price for our dinner came to $101.00. This was for 3 entrees, 2 salads, and 1 sparkling water. I am sorry to say that the ambience and the food are not worth that amount. I respect the chef's background and his dishes, but the prices are a little overdone in terms of selection and rarity. Many inns in the area have far more to chose from and the prices are more reasonable. All in all, I would recommend this inn for honeymoons and VERY special occasions, but please don't expect much help or moderate pricing. [21 Oct 2003 10:40:34]
