Now featuring Chef Audrey DeBlasi Warm and friendly atmosphere. Fabulous dishes, created by Chef Audrey Deblasi, featuring favorites such as prime rib, roast duck, "Audrey's Super Special- 6 oz. filet mignon, 8 oz. lobster tail, 6 steamed clams, & 6 steamed shrimp. There are 8 chicken dishes(sauteed w/ lemon, mushrooms, and topped w/ Hollandaise sauce, 4 veal dishes, & 16 seafood dishes. There are lots of veggies & salads to choose from. Her stuffed baked potatoes, huge mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat w/ Hollandiase sauce, and her shrimp & scallops wrapped in bacon strips are my personal favorites. Wonderful wait staff! dinner for 7 on 12-10-03 Mr. Abbott had a party of 7 on 12-10-03 with 6:30 reservations. We arrived 15 mins. late due to weather conditions, however we called and notified them. The food was excellent which has always been since the 8 years we have been loyal patrons since they were located at the Penn Werner Hotel. We arrived at approximately 6:45 pm in our limosine which we park directly out front also due to the weather conditions. We were seated having our cocktails, while my 6 yr. old newphew was having an iced tea, which he was quite content with. During the course of our delicious meal, my nephew played with his toys that he brought with him. While he was playing he harmlessly decorated the reproduction "man in the barrel" which he always looks forward to seeing when we dine there. We were enjoying our meals and having a nice time when one of the older waitress approched our table and rudely removed all the trinkets from the "man in the barrel" which I and my whole party were appalled. I felt this was a tedious act, so I instructed my nephew to let everything in place. Which now was fine with management.
As we were nearing the end of our meal, I ordered ice cream pie and instucted my nephew to remove the trinkets from the "man in the barrell" during which this time I was questioned by management regarding my limo parked directly out front due to weather conditions which I normally park in the parkin lot. Therefore,I was told I cannot park out front because it is a handicapped space. I questioned where the sign was and she hostily replied there will be one there "by next week" and made a remark that the vehicle will be towed. I sincerely hope they do post it with signs for their handicapped customers. I tried to kindly express my feelings on this matter, I was rudely shoved out the door and told "it was getting cold in here!"
Afterwards, I proceeded to return my party of 6 home. I still highly recommend the cuisine, but do not , and I highly stress, do not play with the "man in the barrell" and to look for handicapped signs out front! I am very appalled and will not be dining there anymore after 8 yrs. of their delicious cuisine. [10 Dec 2003 22:19:53]
