A less than enjoyable week's lodging
I have never wished that I'd chosen to stay in a chain motel motel instead, but I did on this trip!

Superb
Excellent. That's it. The restaurant is wonderful, the food is delicious. The servers are courteous and know what they are doing. The prices are decently reasonable considering the selection. The motel is great. The service is prompt and agreeable, the folks behind the desk are friendly, and the rooms are very clean and nice. The cabins are great also, so authentic. It's just not Powder House anymore.
The Powder House Lodge used to be my family's regular restaurant on our trips to the hills, but recently, the restaurant is under new owners, and it's just not the same. The staff is friendly, yes, but just not as professional as they used to be. There are things on the menu that if you knew Powder House, you'd look at them and think "...what?" It's still a pretty good place, but not nearly as friendly and warm as it used to be.    [04 Sep 2003 19:44:28]

Simply stated: Excellent
Simply stated you can not ask for anything more. The staff is suberb, the food, second to none, and the atmosphere, there is only one.

While yes the Menu has changed a little the food and service is better than ever. The staff is friendly, neat and courteous, always lending a hand to help in any way possible. Highly recommend the restaurant as well as the cabins.

Cabins were all recently remodeled since our last stay. Look great and absolutly spotless. The new owners have definetly made improvements and once again have the Powder House headed in the right directions!!!    [06 Jun 2004 15:17:31]
