Description
They offer a wide varity of items from Burgers, Po Boys, Oysters on the half shell to ribs, steaks, and seafood. You will see a heavy Cajun influence as well as a Carribean influence. The atmosphere is very relaxing, with blues/jazz music in the background. There is original artwork desgined for Redbone's by Frank Gee and Twisted Sisters scattered around the dining areas. Each table has been hand painted with a different musical scene. A Bob Marley portrait is on one of the larger table in the bar. There is live music every weekend and often on other nights during the week. The bar is in the center of the restuarant.

Several coworkers gathered at this location for an evening of relaxation after work. Margaritas were advertised on displayed table sign for $2.50. Several persons ordered frozen margaritas. At the end of our meal, we were informed frozen margarits were $6.00 each. Manager stated "they have now corrected the problem, however refused to issue a refund difference. [26 Mar 2007 14:58:11]

Bad experience A group of friends from work went to this restaurant after work one day. None of us had ever been so we were looking forward to maybe finding a new place to frequent. The food was very good. Two of our party ordered drinks with the understanding that there was a special price. When the bill arrived, they were charged full price and when questioned, the server stated that the special price was only for non-frozen drinks. They were not happy, however, we all paid our bills and then remained at the table a good 20 or so minutes chatting. The server brought change and credit cards back to the table and the two people who had ordered the drinks again stated that the advertisment had not stated that frozen drinks were regular price. Our server said that there was nothing she could do about it so we left. A few days later one of the people in question called to speak to the manager and was told that the server had stated that one of our party had not paid her bill! We all witnessed this person paying and even remembered her saying "Keep the change" to the server. Our group went back to the restaurant today to clear up the matter and to get a refund for the overcharged drinks. The manager, offered gift cards but refused to give a monetary refund. He was actually fairly rude. He kept trying to get us to eat even after we stated that we did not want to eat there and that none of us would be coming back. Saying that we were dissapointed would be an understatement. I would not recommend this place to anyone. [26 Mar 2007 15:02:51]

Manager's reply to negative review The review that is posted is partially correct. The server, who has worked at the restaurant from its opening without ever having a walk-out, promises that one of the customers did leave without paying. The 8-1/2-month-pregnant server had nothing to gain from this statement since she had to pay the bill anyway. As far as everyone witnessing the person pay, our video shows otherwise. Two guests in the party had already left. These people came into the restaurant without a receipt, days later and wanted a cash refund. There is no way any restaurant could refund money based on a person's word that they were mischarged and not have any proof. They were offered a gift card for the disputed amount, even for the customer who walked out without paying her bill. This was above and beyond in regards to this matter. There were no issues with the quality of food or service. [08 Apr 2007 11:42:22]

Great Place! I took my sister to Redbones to celebrate her birthday. My sister could be a restaurant critic. Eating out is her passion, and she has done it in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Ireland, Las Vegas, Dallas, and New York just to name a few. Her review of Redbones Grill & Bar: Fantastic! The food was wonderful. The service started out a little poor. But that was because we had a waiter who was new. But once he was kindly and gently "corrected", everything was fine. We felt relaxed and was able to linger over our wine after dinner was over without feeling rushed. The decor was interesting and the blues playing in the backgroud added a nice ambience. Still Waiting! RedBones is fairly new to the Jackson, TN area. I had been hearing their ads on a local radio station. My wife and I decided to give them a try. It was our 27TH wedding anniversary and a Thursday night. We arrived at about 6:20 PM and were promptly seated. We looked at our menus and were ready to order. We patiently waited as the servers walked by. We sat there for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes. We were puzzled as to why we did not get any service. We were well dressed, we bathe regularly and were not causing any problems. We finally left after about 30 minutes, went to Red Lobster where we were seated and served immediately. How much time should you give a restaurant before you get up and walk out? I think 30 minutes was more than ample to at least get a glass of water. It wasn't that RedBones was busy or short of help. I was hoping for a better dining experience. Maybe, we will try again sometime when we have plenty of time to kill. [18 May 2007 16:30:35]

Disappointed - in general My husband and I visited Redbones for lunch one weekend when it first opened. We were disappointed by the small selection presented in the menu, and even more disappointed by how salty our meals were. We had decided not to go back, but when our top choices in Jackson were all closed for the holiday, we decided to give it another shot on July 4th. We were hopeful that there would be a larger selection in the dinner menu. There were significantly more meals to chose from, but again, the only seasoning detectable in my meal (including sides) was salt. Even my husband, who normally wouldn't point out something like that, commented on how salty his steak was. I understand that seasoning is a matter of personal preference, and I wouldn't hold something like that against a restaurant. However, when my husband ordered his steak, he asked for medium rare. The steak was well done with absolutely no pink at all. We know better than to send food back in a restaurant and expect no retaliation, so he decided to eat the steak anyway. Our waitress didn't come back to the table until he was about 2/3 finished, and when she asked him how his steak was, he replied, "overcooked." She stated that she was pretty sure she put in the order as "medium rare" and went back to the kitchen. We thought she was going to check, let us know where the miscommunication occurred, etc., but she never came back until we were completely finished eating and waiting for our check. At that point, there was still no mention of the steak, making another one, or any refund on the bill. Needless to say, we feel that we have given Redbones sufficient chance to earn our business. In the future, we will hold out for a tried and true restaurant regardless of how hungry we are. [05 Jul 2007 14:07:31]
