love it!!!!! My husband and I have been there many times. Every time we are in Memphis we stay at the Holiday Inn Express on Union so we can just walk down the alley to get the best food in town. [12 Aug 2002 12:16:08]

Slightly Overrated While the food is on par with most BBQ in Memphis, in my opinion, their biggest competitor in town is better.
The air smells of bbq smoke inside. The cole slaw they serve is yellow and tasteless.
The service was excellent,though. [17 Aug 2004 09:31:04]

Long Time Favorite for Dry Rub Ribs I have been coming to Charlie Vergos Rendezvous in downtown Memphis since 1973 when I was 18 years old, and was a freshman at Memphis State (now Memphis Univ.). Great food; great tradition. A national treasure for BBQ foodies. [20 Oct 2007 21:59:13]
