CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION The restaurant had been recommended to me by several people so my husband and I tried it on our Friday night "date". We were both really tired from a difficult week at work and wanted a place to have someone pamper us and make it all better. Unfortunately, it was Chinese New Year at May Dragon. This is not the restaurant's fault. We wanted peace and quiet and some quiet conversation to reconnect with each other and we got dancing dragons and a fan dancer. It was just more than we wanted right at that time. Wish there had been an area that the entertainment skipped so that those that were looking for quiet could find it. The dancers were very skilled and under other circumstances would have been most enjoyable. I thought some others would have opted out if they could as well. The food was good, but some what predictable. My husband had the Moo Goo Gai Pan and said it was good, we shared a Pu Pu Tray and found it was ok but nothing spectacular. I had cashew chicken which is one of my favorite dishes and the one I always order to compare when at a new restaurant. I have to say the sauce was flavorful but I thought the amount and variety of vegetables was much less than I was used to having in even a less upscale restaurant. Overall, I was disappointed in the dish. The soups were good. My husband always has the Won Ton Soup and he thought it was quite good. I had the Egg Flower and it was very flavorful and light with no flavors that should not be there. I enjoyed it very much. Perhaps we had too high an expectation for the food but I really expected more from it than was delivered. I am sure my husband and I will go again as we never make a negative determination on a restaurant on only one visit. Even at that it was not bad, it just was not as good as I had expected.
