Scrumptious Could this be the best restaurant in Athens? I think so! Where else can one find great tasting meals at a low cost? You have a wide variety to choose from including fried chicken, chicken fried steak, baked chicken, livers, chicken strips, chicken nuggets, gizzards, and fried fish. Julio's also provides a vast variety of side items with your meal. These include: okra, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, pinto beans, cajun rice, hushpuppies, and french fries. Each meal comes with a roll or biscuit. So, if you're craving for a great fried chicken restaurant, come on down to Julio's Market Chicken and Fish! [24 Sep 2003 16:14:50]

food or service? I will agree that the food here is very good at a great value. However, the staff is generally sour-faced and will try to rush you through your decisions, even if you are the only customer in the store. I would recommend this establishment if you were going to drive-thru and take it home to your family. I would like to include, however that the art work on the wall is done by local high school students which adds a nice touch. [25 Oct 2006 14:59:23]

great all around!!! I agree this is the best place to eat fried chicken in Athens! I go in to this restaurant at least 3 times a week and every time I walk in I am greeted with a smile. Its hard to choose what my favorites are there cause I love all their food, but I would have to say their chicken strips far exceed the chicken stips from any other restaurant I have been to and their rolls are like none ive ever tasted! Come check out for yourself, you won't regret it. [19 Sep 2007 00:53:30]

How Hard Can JULIOS Suck? After two plus years of avoiding Julio's in Athens because of the poor service and poorer food, not to mention having some woman scream at me in Mexican (not spanish) several times while trying to order, I decided to try them again. After waiting over 30 minutes at the drive-thru for my meal, and having to make a special request to get tartar sauce from the nether reaches of the backroom for my fish (imagine, the gringo wants tartar sauce!) I found that my time (wasted) was worth two TINY COLD chicken strip-like(?) pieces and two VERY TINY COLD fish-substance pieces, and some COLD okra; that's such a bargain for $6.70! Why not call the restaurant La Meccia, La Raza, La Reconquista or Screw You White Boy? Being polite has never made any difference at this restaurant, nor has contacting the owners several times. At least they are consistent! I politely asked for my money back and got it, since there were two cops behind me who had also spent most of their meal-break time WAITING! [03 Feb 2008 21:16:28]
