The place for barbecue in Boerne
If you haven't eaten at the Back Porch, what rock have you been hiding under? Juicy slow cooked barbecue - brisket, pork, turkey, chicken, sausage, etc. - available as sandwich or as a plate with 2 sides. Also available: steaks, great hamburgers and sandwiches. Reasonable prices, the porch eating area is nice, as is the indoors. There are picnic tables outside too - that's where I take the kids to eat. There is an impressive sculpture by Frederick Remington in the dining room. Very enjoyable for lunch or big dinner.    [29 Aug 2002 14:00:36]

Casual dining with Formal flavor
My family and I are huge fans of the Back Porch Restaurant in Boerne. I thought the steak was superb and my husband raved about the brisket. The home-made sides were so familiar that nothing was left on our plates. We were a little intimidated by the drive from San Antonio, but when we saw how many people were already enjoying the food, there, we were easily relaxed. And, the food made the drive SO worth the time. This is, especially, a great place on a date because of such reasonable prices and how unpretensious the place is.    [03 Nov 2005 20:02:49]
