Great food, nice view
Arguably the best Mexican food in Boerne, this eatery is located across the street from the Cibolo Creek on River Road, just a few blocks east of Main Street. There is plenty of parking and service is quite good. You can eat indoors or outdoors on a patio facing the creek. The interior is modestly furnished, and this restaurant has a definite family feel to it. In addition to typical taco, quesadilla and fajita dishes found everywhere, El Rio also has some unusual items on their menu, including their scrumptious spinach quesadillas that are creamy and garlicky. They serve a worthy margarita here and stock a full bar. Smoking is allowed on the patio only. A LOCAL FAVORITE
I have been eating at El Rio for a few years now and I love it!! Its great...the staff is super friendly and the food excellent. The only down fall to El Rio, is their location. I really enjoyed it when they were by the river. They are now in a shopping center that does not have much personality!    [11 Mar 2008 14:44:32]
