Great food, nice view
Arguably the best Mexican food in Boerne, this eatery is located across the street from the Cibolo Creek on River Road, just a few blocks east of Main Street. There is plenty of parking and service is quite good. You can eat indoors or outdoors on a patio facing the creek. The interior is modestly furnished, and this restaurant has a definite family feel to it. In addition to typical taco, quesadilla and fajita dishes found everywhere, El Rio also has some unusual items on their menu, including their scrumptious spinach quesadillas that are creamy and garlicky. They serve a worthy margarita here and stock a full bar. Smoking is allowed on the patio only.
