THE BEST HOME COOKED FOOD AROUND Jim Bowie Restaurant is the best thing for Bowie, Texas. The home cooked food will melt in your mouth. While in Bowie, don't try the other food places -- you would be wasting your money. Jim Bowie is the only place to eat -- breakfast, lunch or dinner. The service is excellent. I have no complaints with this restaurant at all. [28 Sep 2005 01:06:49]

Some of the best service but the owner is VERY RUDE I thought the service was grand, but I had some noodles that where very dry and I could not eat them. I told this to who I thought was the manager on duty, it turned out to be the Owner, She was VERY RUDE to me when I told her about the noodles. I was not trying to get free food, I paid my bill and left. My crew that was staying at the Days Inn next door told me later that she was rude to them as well I would recommend eating anywhere else but there. [09 Aug 2006 20:23:54]

In response to We have lived in Bowie, and have eaten in this resturant for over 30 years. We've seen it passed on from generation to generation and the owners are the salt of the earth! The resturant has a family atmosphere and has been written up in Texas Monthly Magazine for the "Best Chicken Fried Steak in Texas" I guess the "limp noodle lady" wouldn't know good food if it bit her on her rear! Going Down Hill FAST I too have lived in Bowie all my life and know the owner and all her family. Today is the last day I'll eat there unless something changes dramatically. The buffet is overpriced, the salad dressing I got was soured. It's just not worth supporting a bad restaurant and yes, I told them and received the same VERY rude response........ Come on folks, let Billy take it back over...... [29 Apr 2007 22:27:39]
