Best in Texas
My family has visited Concan for generations. The areas surrounding the Frio River are some of the most beautiful places you will ever find in Texas! Breakfast at Neal's Cafe is not to be missed; perched high above the river with an incredible view, it's another one-of-a-kind you won't find elsewhere. Neal's also features a country store, gameroom and dance floor as well as a wide variety of cabins and primitive camp sites. Why travel across the country when you can visit a little piece of heaven right here in West Texas?    [12 Dec 2001 17:43:08]

The COOLEST..FUNNEST...HIPPEST...Place EVER!!!
Neal's has the most awesome environment you could ever want to eat in. You have the great choice of eating inside or outside (I'd recomend outside) and they have the coolest staff that knows how to treat you right!! I would suggest Neal's over any restaurant. They have an awesome view from the restaurant and you will want to make Neal's a resturant you will visit every chance you get!!!!    [29 Apr 2002 12:16:34]

What a great place in the middle of nowhere!
We camped at Neal's Lodges and had a blast. A nippy little cool front blew in and we changed our minds about cooking eggs and bacon outside. We decided to dine at the Restaurant. There were 4 of us. We sat at a quaint table in the corner. After ordering, the waitress recommened that we move to a bigger table to accommodate ALL the plates. Well she wasn't joking! There were pancakes, and eggs, and biscuits and gravy, and toast with homemade jelly and more stuff than any human could possible eat, but we all managed to eat every last bite because it was so good. Even the hot chocolate was better than any place I'd ever have. I give the place 8 thumbs up!    [27 Oct 2003 22:18:52]

A Must For The Romantic
There's not a better place in Texas to have that morning cup of coffee and watch the sun rise, or have a longneck and see the moon come up than on the patio in front of the cafe.    [02 Apr 2004 11:58:47]

A Little Piece of Texas Heaven
We have enjoyed Neal's for years. The service is wonderful, they make you feel at home on the Frio. The food is amazing, the pancakes are good but have you tried the breakfst tacos? That's a little piece of Texas Heaven.    [13 Apr 2004 00:17:43]

The only 5 star that IS 5 star
For over 25 years Camp Riverview and now Frio Country has been our family vacation spot. Neals is the favorite with everyone.    [21 May 2004 11:06:58]

Neal's Cafe Puts On A New Face.
I've been visiting the Frio River area since my high school days in the early '60s, and I've counted myself lucky to have been introduced to the area's best restaurant way back then. Over the years I've dropped in to eat and check out the latest group of happy smiling teenage waitstaff plucked from the surrounding communities. As always, they're smiling, down home country friendly, and bending over backwards to make sure your visit is a pleasant and fulfilling one. Quickly supplied with menus, water, coffee, juice and all the refills you can manage, you're faced with trying to decide which of the delicious items on their menu you'll end up eating. Whether it's the hearty country breakfasts, the varied and delicious home made plate lunches, or the mouth watering dinners in the evening, you just can't go wrong at Neals. And remember that New Face I mentioned.... Neal's has a brand new addition with a beautiful new entrance and dining room that's attached to the original dining room and kitchen. They're still putting the finishing touches on it, but it's a beautiful "Hill Country" dining room waiting to be enjoyed and remembered for years to come. I'll be back again, that's for sure!    [24 May 2004 18:56:23]

You Gotta Try Neal's
Recently camped at Neal's Lodge during the Garner State Park 60s Style Reunion.... (May, 2004). The food and service are simply fantasic! The staff were friendly, patient, in spite of the fact they were "short staff" that day. Don't underestimate the quality of service and food these young folks provide! Breakfast was the best I've had in years!!!
The restaurant has recently expanded, which provides more room to enjoy group gatherings! Congratulations Neal's....like the say in Texas.... Ya'll Done Good!    [26 May 2004 00:34:11]
