Best Italian in Grapevine!!! I have been to Cafe Italia several times and would recommend it wholeheartedly. The service is excellent. As for the food, I suggest the Tortellini Michelangelo, or any of their steak or veal dishes. They have the BEST Ceasar Salad! The ambiance is terrific and they let you take your own wine, which makes it even nicer. The only downside is that the side dish of pasta that comes with each meal is pretty small, so you may have to ask for more... [18 Dec 2003 10:16:15]

The best Italian food I've ever had This is absolutely the best Italian food I have ever eaten, hands down. Every single dish I have tried is delicious. There is a reason why the wait is so long on the weekends - the food is the best around! [04 Aug 2004 01:47:27]

Do Not Stay Too Long We arrived around 5:30pm 1-22-5. We had a great meal. However we were told if we were through there were people waiting :( I was shocked to say the least. We had just dropped 54 dollars +. There was no alcohol involved. I will not go back under any circumstance. May I suggest to the owners if you have trouble seating your patrons....get a larger location. Also to those who do not like to wait...try coming earlier. [23 Jan 2005 01:17:52]

Awesome Italian Food in Grapevine, TX We absolutely loved this place. We think it is the best Italian food in this area. The service was extremely fast. The four of us were seated, ate and paid the bill in less than an hour on a Saturday night. I give it 5 stars!

We drive from Dallas to Grapevine to eat at Cafe Italia. The food is some of the best in the DFW area. Maybe even the very best Italian in the metroplex. I like to take home some of the marinara sauce. It is great for dipping bread! It is crowded on the weekends so go early or plan to wait. Take your own wine! [01 Jun 2005 18:33:11]

Love This Place This is an awesome date place - you can BYO wine and the food is fabulous and not overpriced. Make reservations if you don't like to wait, or just drink your wine on the benches outside. [30 Sep 2005 20:16:29]

Finally Moved here from New Jersey late summer 2005 where great family run italian restaurants are on almost every corner in every town. This abundance means never having to eat at an Italian chain restaurant. I was told that two Italian-American brothers from North Jersey (there are really three states in NJ, North, South and West) operated a place in Grapevine. Thanks to the Ida brothers, I now have a place that serves italian food as I'm accustomed. A solid marinara, al dente pasta, thin and fork cut tender veal (if you can cut your veal with your fork, that's italian!), wonderful vodka and alfredo sauces. Bellisimo! Interior had a very nice feel. Angel hair Pomodoro was weak with a sauce that hinted strongly of starch. A good technique is to reinfuse a bit of starch water when finishing a sauce but the hand was heavy this time. Although I'm loving the nice weather and larger homes here, the food so far has been hit or miss. Tried Carraba's and Olive Garden, I'd never go back, Cafe Italia, I'll be back often. Cafe Italia is an amazing restaurant the food and service was outstanding. It has a very home feeling and we enjoy going. As for the wait, it gets very busy but it is defently worth the wait, just make a reservation. The employees of Cafe Italia try there best to please everyone and were glad there in our area.
