Great Homemade Italian Food

Never Again
I don't know where to start. I've been taught that if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all; but there's a limit to what is tolerable.

I went to Mother Teresa's for the first time,in the middle of the week with only one other table occupied at the time I ordered. I was there with my wife and four very close friends.

The waitress was attentive but nothing spectacular. The food was pretty good but definitely not worth the 45-minute wait to be served.

I ordered Lasagna that tasted good but was served lukewarm. The "midnight chocolate" desert was great.

To add insult to injury, after a mediocre dining experience I was hit with an automatic 17% tip for 8-10% service. An as if that was not enough I was over-charged almost $7.00. Upon returning to the restaurant and confronting the waitress about the mistake she acted as if it was my fault.

Great Local Treasure.
I have eaten here about 40 times. This is the authentic deal in little Lake Jackson. The Gnocci is about the best you will find anywhere.

Service is slow, food is cooked from scratch. Set your expectation for a wonderful evening and take your time.    [30 Sep 2005 22:21:21]

Best in town!
Yes, you should expect to spend time waiting for your food, but when EVERYTHING (pasta, dressings, sauces) are prepared from scratch, it does take a little longer than Olive Garden. If you are there late, and the crowd has dwindled, Mother Teresa will come out and visit the table. She even made up a batch of caesar dressing for my FIL to take home.    [07 Apr 2007 18:12:16]
