Best Pork Shoulder Ever! Great Brisket!
Not much in dining in Navasota. But stop at Ruthie's on TX 105 just west of town. No ambience. Just barbecue cooked in the Black East Texas style. The pork shoulder has been described as "exquisite" elsewhere; and that is true. Brisket was flawless. Potato Salad also very good. Dim, cool hole-in-the wall with good barbecue. Ask the server to hold the sauce and serve it on the side. Don't expect much service; they serve, you pay and life is good.    [03 Jul 2002 22:07:17]
