The best kept secret in PA I may be kicking myself for even putting a review in writing. Afterall, it's usually word of mouth that keeps businesses going, and that's exactly what Shell's is all about. My boyfriend, Gary, and I actually stumbled upon it and since then when we have mentioned it to other Austinites that frequent PA, they say, yep, we've been there and we go there every time we are in PA. Well, we don't just go once when we are there, but actually several times. How can you pass up the absolutely down to earth, most polite bunch of people ever? Not to mention the food has impeccable taste (don't forget the Amaretto cheese cake!!). From the moment we walked in to hear "I'm sorry we don't have any tables right now, would you like to wait in your car AND WE WILL COME GET YOU, to the table service that is oozes with someone loving their job and truly trying to accommodate the customer. All of these faboulous services, combined, put Shell's above the rest. This type of food and service just doesn't exist, other than at Shell's [24 Feb 2002 13:19:49]

Hole in the wall with great food The physical setting is very unassuming - it resembles a shack done up nicely. Inside you sit at card tables with plastic table cloths in plastic lawn furniture and other assortment of chairs. You may scoff that it's just another burger joint trying to be fancy, but the food will blow you away! The people are great and the atmosphere is relaxed. When it's busy the service suffers a little, but overall, definitely a hole in the wall to savor. [24 Aug 2003 15:38:16]

Everyone has a favorite place to eat.... The almost 3 hour drive to get there is so worth it. Myself being a chef, I know this is the quality in which all restaurants should strive for. Shells even exceeds expectations!
I can't wait till my next trip to the coast. [06 Sep 2003 00:22:55]

GREAT FOOD! The freshest food on the island. It's only a matter of time before they get bigger duds. [09 May 2005 11:30:49]

Small but great This is a must place for anyone going to Mustang Island and Port Aransas (PA).
It may be one of the few restaurants in Texas that doesn't have a deep fat fryer!!! Yes, I mean it.
Never had a bad meal here and have eaten here often. [11 Mar 2006 17:40:07]

Best Place in the area Just spent a week in Rockport and Port Aransas area. Some good places but this one is great. I would have come back every day to try the rest of the menu but just couldn't pull it off. The salads, appetitzers, desserts and entres were orignal without being cute. [08 Sep 2006 19:00:41]
