Have you ever been sitting at home and had the uncontrollable urge to eat pizza? That's a stupid question because everyone has unless you're a vegan. I live 25 minutes north of the town of Sherman, TX. And when I want pizza, 25 minutes might as well be a drive across town because I'm headed to Italian Affair. My affair with Italian Affair began when I was in high school and I was shopping at midway mall for school clothes. I stepped up to the counter expecting to get the same-o same-o pizza that you get from your neighborhood franchises. But when I took a bite of a slice of pepperoni, I was instantly hooked. The crust was flexible, yet crunchy on bottom. Thin as to not be bready tasting with the slightest hint of flavor from yeast. "This is pizza," I said to myself. And since that day, I'll make the 25 minute drive (across the border from Oklahoma to Texas mind you) just to grab a pie from my favorite pizzeria. The only thing about this pizza shop that says "mall" is the fact that it's in a mall. Take the pizzeria and stick it in the middle of Brooklyn and it would be right at home. This is no run-of-the-mill we-make-our-pizzas-from-boxed-mixes pizzeria. It's the real deal.    [21 Feb 2005 14:22:18]
