Excellent and cheap
The sushi is always fresh, the service is always great, and the prices can not be beat.    [06 Dec 2000 23:23:52]

A great 'local spot'
The place is small and a bit tight on Saturday night... but for good reason! Try the tempora softshell crab... awesome! The sushi is top notch and the sushi chef is one of the few that I trust.    [09 Jul 2003 15:56:51]

Fresh, simple & inexpensive
This is in an unassuming strip mall but is the best sushi in Alexandria. It is consistently good and fresh.    [13 Nov 2003 18:06:32]

Close to the real thing
Having lived in Japan, Akasaka's decor and atmosphere approaches many of the nicer places I visited while stationed there. The sushi menu is the same, but there are some standards missing from the other menu (e.g. Hiyashi or Cold Noodles. True, the Zaru Soba is served cold but the buckwheat noodles are completely different and there are fewer garnishes. Still, there are a lot of delicious dishes to eat at Akasaka and the lunchtime Bento Boxes are a good value.

For the most part, the service from the regular staff is most attentive. If there is a new face, sometimes it is less so.    [01 Jan 2004 19:02:08]
