Bread and Chocolate Alexandria Reviews review it add a link Digital City Review - DigitalCity.com; The idea of combining a wedge of freshly baked, buttered and cinnamon-sprinkled bread with a mug of hot chocolate probably is enough to tempt even the most stubborn dieter. - suggest change Show 10 | 20 | 30 | 50 reviews on each page Great for Brunch Went there for brunch on a Staturday for a breakfast. The menu seem very interesting from in the window so we went in. I had a smoked salmon omelet which was very delicious. The eggs were not over cooked and there was just the right amount of salmon. It came with 3 or 4 wedges of rosemary potatoes which were probably very good when they were first made but by the time they were served to me were a little dry. My wife got the German rolled pancakes with sour cream (which was not the type of sour cream that you put on your nachos, it was crème fraiche). The pancakes were very thin and had the consistency of a crepe rather than what we normally would call a pancake. Fruit compote filled the center of the pancake rolls. My wife was pretty pleased with her dish although it was not what she was imagining when she ordered. However, the restaurant was under staffed. The place was not that busy but there were only 1 or 2 servers. We had to wait a while before anyone came over and did not get our coffee refilled for a long time. The part that was annoying was that there were two people behind the pastry counter not doing anything. On the way out we decided to get some dessert for later that day from the pastry counter. Everything in the case looked great. When we ordered, the girl behind the counter acted like we were wasting her time. That sort of service really annoys me and my wife to an extent that we will probably not return for awhile. Hopefully this was a fluke and is not the way they normally treat their customers because the food was pretty good and its right across the street from our apartmen [31 Dec 2004 07:42:44]
