Warm and Cozy
Stopped in for a beer on a cold afternoon in October and found a wonderfully roaring fire, visable from almost everywhere in the restaurant. Bartender was informative and helpful. Bathroom could use some regularly scheduled maintenance, though.    [17 Jan 2004 19:03:21]

Good Irish Specialties
Most of my experiences in "Irish pubs" have been at those new trendy restaurants that try to look Irish pub-authentic; that serve Shepard's Pie along with buffalo chicken tenders salad. I don't know of Murphy's history but at least they feel authentic and have great food to back it up. Their meat & potato pie is the best shepard's/cottage pie-like dish I have ever had (but remember my Irish food experience is limited). The Irish Stew is very very good especially with a Guinness (or two). The fish and chips are also respectable, you won't be disapointed. This place can sometimes be crouded, which may be a good indicator, but usually it is very comfortable and relaxing if you go early.    [30 Dec 2004 20:48:59]
