Seeing red in Old Town Alexandria - Digital City, Amanda McClements; Overview and User Reviews - suggest change
Editor's Pick - WashingtonPost.com Entertainment Guide, Eve Zibart, 14 May 2004; One would expect real passion from a place called Vermilion -- roses, rich wines, scarlet women (well . . .). And it is a warmhearted place, attractive and hospitable. Fun. A safe bet. But as yet, it's still a little bit too good-guy-next-door to sweep you off your feet. - suggest change

Fresh new restaurant in Old Town I had a great time at Vermilion. The food was quite good and the service was friendly and professional. Though dinner was nice their bar was fantastic. The bartenders were fun and efficient. The atmosphere is the best in Old Town and in time I bet it will get even better. It is sometimes hard to belive that they just opened a couple of months ago. Bar Review I loved vermilion and the bartenders were quite cute and friendly! My bartender looked like he could lift 5 cars but was courteous sweet and efficient. Awesome atmosphere and a cool plasma TV to boot [01 Oct 2003 11:38:38]

Excellent hang out Every week we have impromptu happy hours and every week we go to Vermilion. The place is nice without being pretentious. The drinks and appetizers are generous. Add to that a stream of young people and you have one fine place to decompress and meet some new friends. [16 Jan 2004 16:02:00]

Great Lunch Deals I've tried several of Vermilion's appetizers and lunch dishes and they have all been wonderful. The waitstaff is great. The lunch prices are reasonable. However, the dinner prices are a little pricey but not extravagantly so, especially for Old Town. I would highly recommend this restaurant. I am addicted! [21 Jan 2004 15:51:30]

Great place to lunch in Old Town! When you first walk in the door at Vermilion, you may be surprised at the fun bright decor you are greeted with. The staff is just as fun and friendly and the food is good. The blackened chicken alfredo is exceptional. The service can get a little slow toward the end of the lunch rush, but you can always get in and out in under an hour. Try the french fries!! [17 Mar 2004 11:05:29]

Really great, but smoky I loved the food at Vermillion-i'd say it's the best restaurant in Alexandria. however, even though we didn't sit at the bar, I left smelling like smoke and had to dry clean my clothes later. They should invest in a better ventilation system. [07 Jan 2005 19:53:05]

What Happened We used to go into Vermillion all the time. We loved Friday Happy Hour There! We Stepped in a few times this month and It's a Ghost-Town. I guess the luster has worn off of this bar. We're going a little further down the street these days. [02 Jul 2007 19:59:50]
