Aunt Sarah's In Carmel Church,Va Rt301&Rt95 Restaurant has expanded gift shop now but still smaller than Cracker Barrel. Prices are LARGER than Cracker Barrel too for freakfast. Aunt Sarah's does offer several types of omelettes though. Food was ok & looked good on plate. Service was slow to fair; what can you expect from 50 yr old ladies trying to do their best.
NOTE: Don't sit in one of their booths. The overhead rack on the booths is so covered with dust the Health Department needs to step in. One of these dust balls fell near my plate. Dankos Corp will be notified. [26 Jan 2002 21:15:46]

Cannot believe what I saw This pancake house should be reported to the Virginia Health Departmant. When we visited this restaurant, we sat down, looked around, the place was deserted. I wondered why. We waited twenty minutes for the waitress to take our order and close to twenty minutes to be served. I took a peek inside the kitchen to find out if anyone was employed in the kitchen. I was served food on a dirty contaminated plate w/grape jelly on bottom. I did not notice the dirty plate until finishing the lousy BLT sandwich. It was lousey. I was hungry! On I-95 & Rt.54 (804)798-7627. Will never get my patronage and money again. [09 Jan 2005 05:44:12]

Never Again, Aunt Sarahs Fredericksburg VA I agree with the previous postings. We stopped off I-95 in Fredericksburg VA (I recall there being an Applebees across the road and a Cracker Barrel behind this Aunt Sarah's location). We sat in a booth where I spotted napkins and food debris on the floor. My daughter found an insect in her juice, my brother's cup leaked milk, and my wife's cup was throughly worn. The place was deserted, low lit and kinda dingy (that should've been the first clue). The Pancakes like the rest of the meal were so so. We were on our way to Cracker Barrels, but at my brother's suggestion we went here. What a lousy mistake, many regrets. Next time I'll stick to what I know Never Again Kenne [11 Feb 2006 11:20:34]

Hoping for improvement at Aunt Sarah's I would enjoy eating at Aunt Sarah's in the Ashland area if they could open the left side for non-smoking patrons and purchase a commercial air machine or two for the other dining area. It would add to the ambiance if someone updated the restaurant seating for the booths. Many are torn. Niketa is a very pleasant and hardworking employee and deserves a promotion. Aunt Sarah's was EXCELLENT Despite all of these poor reviews others are giving of Aunt Sarah's Pancake House, I loved it! The food was very delicious probably the best I've had in any diner and the waitress was very pleasant. I liked the set-up of it. So country styled like diner. I would definitely go again!
